What Are PalmDoc And ASCII File Formats?

Similar to simple text files, PalmDoc (.pdb) is the default file format for Palm OS devices. Its notable high compression rates produce small file sizes and is enabled by default to save space on your Palm. As such, PalmDoc is widely supported by many Palm OS readers.

Like any other text file, the PalmDoc format doesn't allow any formatting. In fact, they're usually created from text files encoded in ASCII (American Standard Code for Information Interchange), a text file used primarily as a universal data exchange format.

What Is Makedoc?

You can convert from ASCII to PalmDoc using the Makedoc utility, a powerful Text to PalmDoc converter that can format your text files into the .pdb format.
