Once you have installed the software, you will be prompted to log in to your Cometdocs account. Enter your username and password.
If you have been logging in to Cometdocs via social networks and do not have a password, go to "Register a password" from your account. You can also simply create a new account by clicking on the "Don't have a Cometdocs account?" link provided in the app. It is not possible to use the app without a username and password.
Once you have logged in, using the Cometdocs desktop application is very easy.
To start using it, locate a file on your computer that you want to convert. Right click on the file and look for the convert option with the Cometdocs logo next to it. If your file is a PDF, you will be given the option to convert it into one of the many formats that Cometdocs supports.
If your file is not a PDF, then you will be given the option of converting the file to a PDF.
Once you choose what conversion you would like to perform, the file will immediately be sent to our servers for conversion.
Once the conversion is complete and the new file is downloaded to your computer, a notification will appear as a pop-up balloon coming from the Cometdocs icon located in your taskbar’s Quick Launch toolbar. Click on the notifications to see your converted file. The converted file will be automatically downloaded to the same folder in which your original file is located. The whole conversion process should only take a few moments, but it all depends on the size of the file you are converting.
Click on the app icon in the System Tray if you want to see a list of all your most recent conversions.
To sign out of the app, right click on the Cometdocs icon in the System Tray and choose the "Sign Out" option.
Additionally, the Cometdocs desktop app allows users to upload files for storage with just one click. Use the right-click context menu to upload large files directly from your desktop and bypass your browser in the process entirely.
